You can enroll in the driving training course at North Simcoe Driving School at any time during the year. Registration is open year-round, and training schedules are flexible to match your availability, including evenings and weekends. Once enrolled, you can begin the online theory portion and arrange in-car lessons according to your preferred schedule.

Absolutely! Payment plans are available for both the Beginner Driving Certificate Program (BDE Course) and the Advanced Driving Certificate Program.

Here’s how it works: You can start with a C$150 installment deposit. Once the deposit is received, we will send you the online course link so you can begin the online portion of your driver training program. The remaining course balance must be paid in full before you begin your in-car driving lessons.

You are allowed to complete up to 5 hours of the online portion of the Driver’s Education course per day. You may choose to study less if you prefer, but you cannot exceed 5 hours in a single day.

The total online portion of the program is 30 hours, which means you can finish it in as little as one week if you complete 5 hours each day.

We have designed this course to be easier and more flexible for people who want to take Driver’s Education, helping create safer drivers on the road faster while reducing wait times.

You can start the online portion of your driver training without having your G1. However, you must obtain your G1 before you begin the in-car driving lessons.

Please note that the Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course is valid for one year. Make sure you get your G1 licence within this one-year period after purchasing or starting the course; otherwise, the course will expire and you may lose your progress. You must have your G1 licence before starting any in-car driving lessons.

With North Simcoe Driving School, you have one full year to complete the Beginner Driver Education (BDE) course, which includes both the online portion and the in-car driving lessons. Please remember that you will not receive or be eligible for the certificate if you exceed this one-year limit. The course will expire after one year, and no refunds will be issued.

10 hours of driving lessons may be enough for someone with some driving experience. However, beginners or students who have never driven before may need more than 10 hours. In such cases, you can book additional lessons by speaking with the driving school, and they will help you schedule extra training.

Students must be fully prepared before taking a road test for the safety of both the student and the examiner. The Ministry does not allow driving schools to book road tests for students who are not ready or able to drive safely on the road.

If you take our course, you can take your G2 road test in 8 months from date your G1 license is issued. Otherwise you must wait a minimum of 1 year if you don’t take the course.

You need to visit the official Ontario DriveTest website at www.drivetest.ca to schedule your road test. You can also ask your driving school or instructor to help you book the test. Be careful of fake websites that are not verified. To ensure your booking is safe, always use the official site or contact your driving school directly.

Anyone who has four years of driving experience in Ontario, or a certified driving instructor with a car equipped with dual brakes, can take you for the road test.

Absolutely! You can use your instructor’s car for your road test. The fee for using the instructor’s car may vary depending on the test centre where you book your test.

It’s always best to use a car you are familiar with for your road test, as it will help you feel more comfortable and relaxed during the exam.

If you fail your first attempt, you will have to pay:

  • $53.75 for your G2 road test
  • $109.00 for your G road test

If you are booking your driving test in Ontario you have three options:

  1. Call 1-888-570-6110
  2. Book it online at www.drivetest.ca
  3. Visit your local DriveTest Centre

Insurance discounts vary based on your insurance company, driving record, age, type of vehicle, and other factors. Please contact your insurance company or broker for specific details.

Note: The discount is available only if you have a Driver’s Licence History (DLH), which can be obtained from ServiceOntario for a fee.

The BDE course stands for Beginner Driver Education. It’s a program for new drivers, usually in Ontario, designed to teach the fundamentals of safe driving. The course covers:

  • Traffic rules and laws
  • Defensive driving techniques
  • Hazard perception
  • Basic vehicle operation

Completing it often helps new drivers get a discount on insurance and can shorten the time needed to get a full driver’s license.

Certificates are processed online within 24 to 48 business hours after you have successfully completed a BDE course.

If you need proof that you finished your driving course for insurance discounts, you can get your Driver Licence History (DLH) from any ServiceOntario location. Only the person on the licence can request it, and you need to sign the form. The cost is $15 – 17, paid to ServiceOntario, not the driving school.

Any concerns with online certifications please contact MTO (Ministry of Transportation) at +1 416-235-5540 in business hours only.
