In-Car Driving Lessons Policy

North Simcoe Driving School offers driving lessons 7 days a week starting from 8:00 AM until sunset (depending on daylight saving).

We may collect personal information such as your Driver’s License, name, address, email address, phone number, and driving history to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with us.

With consent, we may contact students via text message for lesson reminders, scheduling updates, and important notifications. Standard message rates may apply.

Students may book a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 2 hours of in-car driving lessons per day.

Pick-up and drop-off for in-car lessons will be at the same location.

In certain situations where city rules restrict lessons in a specific area, the student and instructor will meet at a mutually agreed-upon location outside that area. This must be discussed with the instructor in advance.

In winter or poor weather conditions, lessons may be cancelled by the instructor. The student will not be charged. The instructor has sole discretion to determine whether weather conditions are unsafe.

Driving Lesson Cancellations

Lessons are scheduled between the student and the assigned instructor. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance directly to the instructor.

Late cancellations or no-shows will result in a $40 fee per scheduled hour. This fee must be paid before booking any future driving lessons.

Instructors may cancel or reschedule lessons due to illness, emergencies, weather, extreme road conditions, mechanical issues, or delays caused by a DriveTest road test. No charges will apply to the student in these cases.

Certification

North Simcoe Driving School will not certify a student who does not complete the full BDE Program in accordance with Ministry of Transportation mandates.

All fees must be paid in full before beginning in-car driving lessons.

Certification requires completion of the entire BDE program within one (1) year of enrollment.

Students must complete:
• 20 hours of online theory training with a minimum average score of 70%
• 10 hours of home-link training with a minimum score of 70%
• 10 in-car driving sessions with a minimum score of 80%

Driving schools do not issue driver’s license certificates. Students must obtain a Driver’s License History (DLH) from Service Ontario for a fee, either in person or online.

Road Test Booking

Road tests must be booked through the official DriveTest website.

If a road test is cancelled by the DriveTest Center before instructor pickup on the test day, no charges will apply.

Refund Policy

Refunds are available within 3 days of purchase, minus a non-refundable $70 registration fee.

Refunds are processed within approximately 7 business days.

The BDE program must be completed within one (1) year of enrollment. After one year, services are forfeited and no refunds will be issued.
