I really enjoyed my driving lessons with Mahmood. He was calm, professional, and easy to communicate with. At first I had trouble judging distances and knowing when to change lanes, but with regular practice those things became much easier. We also spent time practicing parking and driving on busier roads in Barrie. I appreciated that the lessons were focused on actually becoming a safer driver rather than just memorizing things for the test.

Learning with Saqib was a positive experience from beginning to end. He took the time to understand what I was struggling with and adjusted the lessons around those areas. We worked on everything from basic vehicle control to intersections, parking, lane positioning, and defensive driving. I noticed a big difference in my confidence after only a few lessons. North Simcoe Driving School is a great option for anyone starting their driving journey in Barrie.

I was quite nervous about taking driving lessons, but Sam made me feel comfortable right away. He explained each situation in a simple way and never made me feel embarrassed when I made mistakes. We practiced different parts of Barrie and worked on the areas I needed the most help with. Parking and lane changes became much easier with practice. I pass my G2 road test Thank God!

My experience with Mahmood was excellent. He was patient and paid attention to the small details that can make a big difference when driving. We practiced proper observation, signalling, lane changes, turns, parking, and defensive driving. I liked that every lesson had a purpose and that I always knew what I needed to improve. I feel much more confident driving around Barrie now since I pass my G road test with North Simcoe Driving School.

I would definitely recommend North Simcoe Driving School for beginner drivers in Barrie. Saqib made the lessons easy to understand and gave me plenty of opportunities to practice instead of simply telling me what to do.

I had a very good experience learning with Sam. I started with limited driving experience and needed quite a bit of guidance. Sam was patient throughout the process and explained why certain driving habits were important. We practiced around Barrie in different situations, including residential streets, busier roads, parking, and lane changes. I feel like I have developed much better road awareness and confidence because of the lessons.

🛣️ Roads we practise on

Barrie gives new drivers a bit of everything. We start on quiet residential streets in neighbourhoods like Holly and Painswick, then build up to busy commercial roads such as Bayfield Street, Mapleview Drive and Essa Road, school zones, the steep hills around downtown and Kempenfelt Bay, and — for G-licence students — merging and lane changes on Highway 400. You only move to busier roads when you’re ready.

🚗 Road test at Barrie DriveTest Centre

520 Bryne Drive, Unit 7, Barrie

Barrie students take their G2 and G road tests at the Barrie DriveTest Centre in the city’s south end. Before your test, we practise in the surrounding area so the roads, intersections and traffic around the test centre feel familiar on test day. You can use the instructor’s car — the same car you trained in — for your road test.
